American Biz, Inc. Acquires ThugZone.com

American Biz Inc., dba amBiz Creative, a South Florida Web Design Firm, has recently acquired another Internet radio station in ThugZone.com. The previous owner had received a high paying job working for a major airline and is giving up his site. American Biz, Inc. now owns 25% ownership stake in both Dirty South Radio and ThugZone.com.

American Biz Inc., dba amBiz Creative, a South Florida Web Design Firm, is now currently managing the radio station with a 25% ownership stake and plans for expansion. In the first phase of expansion, amBiz is doing a complete makeover of the website, page optimization, and SEM (search engine marketing) to increase web traffic organically, and put the website visitors onto a whole new listening platform.

There is a new trend developing in the recruiting of high-tech employees. Due to the competitive nature of the business, companies are looking for new ways to recruit individuals that not only have the business and technical knowledge required to perform a specific job, but they are also looking for candidates that fit well into the corporate culture of the organization. Tech Planet is one such high-tech firm that is using this new approach to recruiting. Instead of the normal first round job interview, applicants at Tech Planet sit down to an informal meal with employees. The goal is to socialize with the employees to determine whether the applicants belong in the organization. After the initial meal, employees vote on which candidates will be invited back for the next round.

In this paper I will assess an on-line recruitment service, identify the advantages and disadvantages of this vehicle as a recruiting technique for an organization, evaluate the pros and cons of dealing with virtual resumes, and develop criteria an organization can use for selecting an on-line recruiting service.

Now Part of American Biz

As of this week, I am now part of American Biz, Inc. They are a company that buys and sells business, seeks investors for business opportunities, builds and sells computers, and web design. We have a new office at NE 32nd Street and A1A.

One of my first projects that I am heading up is the re-design of Dirty South Radio. The site is getting tons of traffic and is not even optimized. Its current success is on popularity alone, and we plan on taking full advantage of this traffic to make money off of it. We are also in the process of creating a new blog and a separate store front to sell his t-shirts.

My personal web site will remain as the main marketing vehicle to promote American Biz products and services. Stay tuned for more updates.

Do Not Pay A Fee For “ADOPTING” a Pet

I was looking for another kitten to adopt to be a playmate for my female kitten that I currently have. It is amazing how many ads you see for pet adoptions that require a “small fee.” There are those few that are truly looking to find a good home for a cat or a dog and are not charging anything. Do not pay fees for animals that you want to ADOPT! When I adopted my first kitten a couple of months ago, I did not pay any fee for her since I do not believe in the buying and selling of animals. Pets are not commodities that can bought and sold like soybeans.

My kitten, who is a strictly indoor cat, is so qute. She likes to be lay on my desk while I work at the computer. She is fixated with the mouse pointer on the screen. When I move my mouse and the pointer moves, she is intensely watching where the pointer moves to.

So to those that insist on making money off of these animals by charging a fee, shame on you. It is repulsvive to see ads on this site that require a “small rehoming fee” or “adoption fee.” Shame on you! No matter how you slice it, you are making money off of the buying and selling of animals.

If you are someone that is truly interested in finding a good home for one of your kittens, there are plenty of people out there that will be more than happy to “adopt” one. Remember that pets are not commodities that can bought and sold like soybeans. So can we please stop the cruelty and the greed.

Several studies by Ames (1997), Gladue (1990), and Meyer-Bahlburg (1995) conclude that there is a critical period in a fetus’ development that predisposes the person to be attracted to a particular sex later in life. This critical period has to do with the brain’s neural-hormonal control system. So female fetus’ that were exposed to testosterone were more like to become lesbians later in life, while male fetus’ that were exposed to increased levels of estrogen hormone were more likely to be gay.

Everything psychological is simultaneously biological.

Bogus Ads On Craigslist

I just stumbled up on a bogus ad on craigslist. After talking with Sheila Herrera, HR Director for the Miami Science Museum, she has confirmed that there are no web design positions with her company. She has currently forwarded the link over to the IT department to look into the matter. A bogus ad such as this makes the Miami Science Museum looks bad for when they do have a legitimate job opening.

Craigslist is a great free site for posting ads, but this goes to show that there are numerous bogus job ads on the site. Job seekers, recruiters, and employers should beware of this scam.
